Drawing is a visual dance. One line motivates another and
when does the thinness or thickness of a line become a shape?
Does that line imprison a form or set it free?
Whether it is a feather, a toothpick or a traditional tool-
it is the force that propels us to make marks that fascinates me.
We work with multiple black & white media- sometimes large,
exploring unusual mark making tools.
We do blur the boundaries between drawing & painting
in our experiments.

These mixed media classes include watercolor, acrylic, soft pastels,
sometimes collage and, recently oil, cold wax and pigment sticks. It varies every time I teach it because I get excited about new possibilities. This class, of necessity, is for continuing artists who want to enrich their current practice and expand their visual vocabulary.

Here is a wonderful opportunity to explore the luminosity
and versatility of watercolor! Beginners get a strong foundation
in fundamental painting approaches, including traditional
and innovative wash techniques. Variety of subject matter.
Intermediate painters work more independently
with emphasis on color and design.
*** I am unable to pro-rate my privately run classes. Makeups can be made by
attending one of my other classes during the current session.
